In doing research this week for a presentation I had to give in my 18th century in/and theory seminar, I came across this quote.
“…[T]hey argue that, far from being a state of passive subjection to meanings dictated by the producer, consumption is creative and unpredictable, a site of agency, interpretation, and therefore, potentially, of resistance.
